In 2014, Intercity designed The Journal as part of a wider brand refresh for UK-based cycle store Kinoko. The quarter-fold newspaper included a mix of cycling-themed content (including photo-stories, interviews, product reviews) and was distributed at the Bespoked bicycle show as a way to introduce Kinoko's customers to the new visual direction.
For the brand refresh itself, we created a complete design guidelines document that reinforced Kinoko’s new editorial focus. The guidelines included the introduction of a new display typeface, as well as a simplified colour palette.
In addition to the work shown here, we are currently working with Kinoko on their new website, product packaging and various own-brand goods.
