Inspired by the palindrome title of Bozu’s Never Odd Or Even EP (from Brighton-based label Concrete Plastic), Intercity created a cover design that referenced a found image of a stone-carved Sator Square. We really wanted to create a physical object for this project and so put our bespoke typography through a series of material processes, including both laser cutting and concrete casting. We created a number of casts, photography of which was then used for an accompanying booklet and set of fly posters. The final EP cover features a laser-cut steel plate, with the typographic elements formed from black treacle, while the Remixes cover (shown bottom) uses an image of a smashed concrete cast.
